INDIA

The role of Indian women has been pushed into the background, at men's will, that is to say, the man has the command, the superiority, and the control on women. This generates situations of discrimination in fields like education, health, economy and politics. The cause of the fairly evolution of patriarchal system.

Women's education in India is very poor, since only two of every five women know how to read and write. Around 40% of the Indian girls under the age of 14 do not attend school, because their parents work at home or on farms.

95% of the women work in trading, traditional work, domestic work, or other activities. The other 5% works in jobs that need only a minimum level of education. In the Parliament, only 11% of seats are occupied by women, for this reason men also have more rights than women.

Many families end up selling their daughters or marrying them for money and their daughter opinion doesn’t matter.

Men commonly drink alcohol rather than water due to their poverty-stricken situation, afer they drank they therefore sexually and physically abuse women.
